  • Formerly homeless individuals and veterans

 

Neighborhoods include Lake Edward, Green Run, Northridge, Princess Anne Plaza, Indian Lakes, Campus East, and Rosemont Forest. Rents are below market to reduce cost burden, paired with professional property management.

Veterans Housing

(SSVF Program)

Since 2013, VBCDC’s Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) promotes housing stability for very low‑income veterans and their families across Virginia Beach, Portsmouth, Norfolk, Chesapeake, Suffolk, Franklin, Isle of Wight, and Southampton.

 

Eligible supports include rental/utility assistance, security deposits, moving costs, emergency housing, childcare/transportation, emergency supplies, and stabilization services.

  1. Review eligibility (income, household size, veteran status, disability, etc.).

  2. Complete the preliminary application online or by phone.

  3. Leasing Specialist follow‑up and next steps.

  5. Eligible applicants are placed on a waitlist or matched to available housing.
